Karukera Land is a family-friendly park boasting water activities, games, animals, and gardens that represent the ecological diversity of the island of Guadeloupe. From Basse-Terre, the capital city of Guadeloupe, you can drive to Karukera Land in about 1.5 hours on the N1 road. There is no public transportation between Basse Terre and the park, but there are accommodations nearby, in Grande-Terre.
The park is open Wednesday through Sunday, from late morning until early evening. Upon arrival, you’ll receive a schedule of the day’s activities and performances, which often include live music and exercise classes.
Grand-Terre offers a wealth of water-based attractions, in addition to Karukera Land. Head to the Aquarium de la Guadeloupe, where you can observe reef sharks, manta rays, and tropical fish, or spend an afternoon at Karaib Rider’s Park, an inflatable obstacle course floating on the waters of the North Atlantic Ocean.
