Located in the historic area of Vieux-Habitantes, on the island of Guadeloupe, Domaine de l’Habitation la Grivelière is a coffee factory and plantation that dates back to the 18th century. Visit the site’s traditional Creoloe gardens, which are full of coffee and cocoa plants as well as an abundance of other medicinal and edible plants.
Explore the tropical gardens at Domaine de l’Habitation la Grivelière on a guided tour, and learn about the plants that grow in the area and the history of the complex. You can combine an admission ticket with a 3-course meal at the on-site hotel for an extra special experience. Alternatively, if you have a large group, you can book a coffee- or cocoa-making workshops. Visitors can also access Guadeloupe National Park from the gardens.

Domaine de l’Habitation la Grivelière is roughly a 30-minute drive from Basse Terre, the capital of Guadeloupe, via the Rue du Baron de Cluny. The closest town is Vieux-Habitants, which is about 10 minutes away on the Route de Grand Riviere.
Currently, Domaine de l’Habitation la Grivelière is undergoing important restoration that’s due to be completed in January 2020. Once the work is complete, updated opening hours will be stated on the official website.
Home to coffee and cocoa plantations as well as old colonial estates, Vieux-Habitants is one of the most charming towns in Guadeloupe.
