On the peaceful North Caicos Island, Whitby Beach is one of the best. Head here for an unspoiled white sand beach and water perfect for swimming.
For beach walks, sunbathing, or bathing in warm turquoise water, Whitby Beach is an idyllic spot. There’s little development around and as North Caicos island is harder to get to than Providenciales, there are often very few other people here. You can snorkel right off the beach near the rocky Pelican Point, although nearby Three Mary’s Cays offers more variety in terms of sea life to spot.
*Bring water, sunscreen and a hat to the beach – there’s little in the way of amenities here.
*There are few resorts on North Caicos; most of the accommodation is in vacation villas.
*You’ll find a few bars and restaurants in the small community of Whitby close to the beach.
North Caicos island is accessible from Providenciales by passenger ferry from Heaving Down Rock Marina. To get around once you arrive you can rent a car for the day (be sure to book in advance). North Caicos is connected by Middle Caicos by road, so you can explore both islands on the same day.
Many people visit North and Middle Caicos as a day trip while on holiday on Provo island. The ferry only runs a limited service on Sundays so it’s better to visit on another day of the week. High season in Turks and Caicos runs from December to March, when the weather is at its best.
